Who was older (Lewis or Clark)?

Could you imagine being tasked with building America? The need to acquire more land and to develop it for colonization. If this was just an exploration of discovery, then how would you, if you were president handled commissioning such an expedition? How would you have handled the native American Indians both friendly and hostile?
